Dental Crowns (Ceramic & Same Day CEREC)

What are Dental Crowns?

A dental crown is a restoration that helps to cover a tooth that has been compromised or damaged. Most crowns can easily last for decades before they may need to be replaced. You may require a dental crown if one of your teeth has broken or cracked, or you might need this restoration if you have an incredibly large filling in one or more of your teeth. We offer both ceramic and CEREC dental crowns that are done in the same day as your initial appointment.

Why are Dental Crowns needed?

There are several reasons for why you may need to have a dental crown made and placed for your smile. One of the most common reasons for needing a dental crown is because one or more of your teeth has broken, cracked, fractured or chipped in a way that is compromising the tooth. You may even need a dental crown if you have a large filling that is starting to crack or compromise the tooth otherwise. Most teeth that have recently had a root canal will eventually need to be crowned.

Who is a good candidate for a Dental Crown?

The dental crown procedure is incredibly easy and the benefits of having a dental crown placed are apparent when it comes to improving your oral health. In order to determine if you will need a dental crown, we will perform an examination and look for any teeth that have broken or cracked or teeth that have large fillings in them. If you are going to be having or have had a root canal done, we may automatically schedule you to have a dental crown placed. This is simply because teeth that have had a root canal done are more susceptible to breaking and cracking.
